Dear Friend and Neighbor,
During this season, when many families are adjusting to providing education at home, my office has collected resources and tools that we hope might be useful to navigate these next several weeks. You can access them here.
In addition, I would also like to invite you and your family, or any families you may know with middle school or high school students (or anyone else who might be interested) to listen in on a discussion about our nation’s founding principles, why they still resonate today, and their connection to our legislative process.
This conversation is planned for Wednesday, April 15, 2020 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Joining me for this event will be Kristen Morrell Rutter, adjunct professor in political science at Arizona Christian University.
Topics we will touch on include:
- Background to the Founding Documents
- Events leading up to 1776
- How a bill becomes a law
- Resources available to learn more
To listen in on the call, you can dial toll-free at 844-291-6362. The access code is 5628043. Please note that the call-in lines are limited.
I look forward to having you join us. Stay well.
State Senator, 23rd District
P.S. - We’ve set up a page on my website that we are regularly updating with new “links” and resources (including education tools) regarding the current situation. Please reach out to my offices if you have further questions. You can access the website here.
