The great British Prime Minister Winston Churchill warned against the state becoming involved in shaping private enterprise and propping up favored industries. Too many families have too much at stake for such experiments. When the Legislature injects itself in the process, it is everyday Californians who end up covering those losses, usually with higher taxes.

Morrell Introduces State Budget Transparency Bill

To promote transparency and increase citizens’ accessibility to their state government, Senator Mike Morrell, R-Rancho Cucamonga, introduced Senate Constitutional Amendment 3 to require that the state budget be available to the public and posted online at least 72 hours before any vote of the legislature.
