The State Senate passed Senate Concurrent Resolution 159 by Senator Mike Morrell (R-Rancho Cucamonga) officially recognizing August 7 as Purple Heart Day in California. The resolution acknowledges men and women of the Armed Services who have been wounded or killed in action.

Today, the Assembly Committee on Natural Resources approved on a bipartisan vote Senate Bill 1136, authored by Senator Mike Morrell (R-Rancho Cucamonga), to require that the legislature and the public annually receive more detailed information regarding the spending of money generated by the controversial fire prevention fee.
