SACRAMENTO – Today, Senator Mike Morrell (R-Rancho Cucamonga) took the oath of office to continue representing the people of the 23rd Senate District at the State Capitol. He issued the following statement:
"As I am sworn in today, I want to thank voters for placing their confidence in me to continue representing them in Sacramento. I'm honored to have the opportunity to advocate for the citizens of the 23rd Senate District as we work to make government more effective and efficient and hold it accountable to the people.
“Our state confronts many challenges. We still have friends, family, and neighbors who are struggling. Roads continue to deteriorate, despite having some of the highest taxes in the country. Concerns about crime are growing. At the same time, debt and unfunded pension liabilities threaten the financial security of future generations.
“Going into this next legislative session and a new chapter in our nation’s history, it is now time to solve these problems head on. Our duty is to leave our children and their children the same chances that we had to succeed.”
