Legislators Urge State Board of Education to Reject Draft History-Social Science Framework

Wednesday, July 13, 2016

SACRAMENTO – As the State Board of Education meets this week in Sacramento, Senator Mike Morrell (R-Rancho Cucamonga) joined several of his Senate and Assembly colleagues in urging the board to reject revisions to the Draft History-Social Science Framework for California Public Schools.

In a letter addressed to members of the board, legislators outlined concerns with the framework, which serves as a guide for educators and curriculum developers. Specifically, the proposed framework would remove references to the Judeo-Christian heritage of the United States and incorrectly represent other historical events.
